This idea of having blackboard paint on the wall of a kitchen for recipes is genius! Not entirely sure about its position right over the stove top, though. Looks difficult to reach.

April Bowlby in most episodes of Two and a Half Men is downright scorching - But this episode in particular stands out as per this morning’s Fox8 re-run.

Frothing This Camera

The Lytro Light Field Camera captures all light field data within an image, which means literal point and shoot photography as it has no focus motor or any settings that need adjusting. It simple takes the shot as you saw it in real life and allows you to then adjust the point of focus and light details later on. Since it captures all of the light data, this also means that there is no need for a flash as it can perfectly represent low lit conditions.

JB Hifi Free Gift Card Scam

For all of you whom received an extended invite to the JB Hifi ‘Free Gift Card’ contest on Facebook recently:

1. It’s a scam.
2. JB Hifi wouldn’t use Facebook in that manner to do such a thing. Especially to the point of bankruptcy.
3. They’re certainly not going to send you to an external site to complete the give away details if they were, it’d be built in to the official JB Hifi Facebook page.

Someone out there has just very successfully completed two things: Taught hundreds of thousands of people a valuable lesson in internet security and created an amazing marketing opportunity for JB Hifi.

Count the days before it appears on Today Tonight with their CEO dropping a statement along the lines of: “No, we were not running any sort of giveaway, people must be warned that this IS an event created by a scammer, but we DO have some great savings this Christmas so be sure to come on in”.

Two weeks before Christmas and “the JB Hifi Gift Card Giveaway” is on the minds of nearly 5 million people. I’d be curious to know if it was actually a planned marketing tactic, tbh.

Wooboards.com

I’ve never been so excited by the idea of pushing money into a new venture purely to use a web application as part of the day to day regime. They’re really hit an increasingly faint nail on the head here. Reward your employees and make work fun.

Wooboards.com Introductory Image

I’m also please to have discovered this after recently watching a presentation by Aaron Dignan on “How to use games to excel at life and work” on the99percent.com: http://the99percent.com/videos/7091/Aaron-Dignan-How-to-Use-Games-to-Excel-at-Life-and-Work

Certainly inspired me at least to begin meriting myself with an arbitrary points system for every piece of work I complete. Read a tutorial on new web technology? +2 XP. Written a new blog post? +2 XP. Compiled a web page from scratch and parsed W3C Standards? +10 XP.

There’s a reason people become so addicted to games like World of Warcraft. They constantly reinforce achievements with a reward system that gives merit to even the small things. #superproductivityincrease
